Meet Rick Spargo

Rick Spargo’s family has been involved in fighting for American democracy for over 250 years. He has a passion to serve it’s in his DNA. He had five ancestors who fought for the foundation of America in the American Revolution. The 250th year of the signing of the Declaration of Independence was an obvious time for him getting involved. You won’t find a candidate more patriotic, more dedicated to the ideals of the Founding Fathers and Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. He believes in the Constitution as a whole and not just parts of it that are convenient for his purposes.

He strongly believes in common sense decisions, moderation, and compromise. Spargo is a North Scottsdale resident who started a successful business 35 years ago. He has lived in the district for 20 years. He raised four children. He is married. He has raised thousands of dollars for a homeless veteran’s shelter. Has been the State President of the Arizona Sons of the American Revolution. A non-partisan educational and civic minded organization that supports youth programs and awards scholarships.

Affordability & the Economy

Spargo is concerned with affordability and the rising costs for the average citizen. Like tariffs, housing and groceries. Affordable access to healthcare, and the sustainability of Medicare & Medicaid. As a long-time business owner he understands rising costs, labor shortages, negotiations, contracts and finance. Small business viability in the district and Arizona is important. Spargo is pro-business to sustain and address the growing unemployment problem.

Education

Spargo is concerned about Arizona public education. Teachers are paid on average 61% less than the national average. Benefits are terrible and Spargo has an idea using his business acumen to give teachers better benefits. Educators are the unsung heroes of our children and grandchildren. They are the future of America and deserve fairness in compensation. Spargo also believes schools need to be safe havens for students so they can thrive and not be terrorized.

Environmental

Spargo champions pragmatic water conservation and infrastructure investment critical for suburban communities. Spargo also believe in fire mitigation programs like the “Firewise” program in communities at high risk that border wildlands, open lands and preserves. Protecting our environment helps sustain tourism in our district as well as eco-tourism for the state.

Public Safety

Spargo is in favor of increasing training and recruitment of first responders in our communities. He is concerned and in favor of greater support of mental health initiatives to battle the mental health pandemic in our communities.

Immigration

Spargo knows we have a shortage of labor. We have an aging population. He believes in controlled but humane immigration. Before technology Ellis Island was able to process immigrants on average in 6 hours. He believes with present technologies we can do better.
